Public Notices

Public notices are required for Class I and Class II Operating Permits. The public notice period lasts 30 days. They are also required for some Class III permits if defined hazardous air pollutants are present at the facility requesting the permit.

Only the public notice is published here. If you wish to review the proposed operating permit, we will have a copy in our office for your review. An appointment is necessary so that the air quality staff may answer basic questions related to the permit. Should you wish to make official comments for the record, or have more detailed questions, the public notice will provide the appropriate contact name at KDHE. To make an appointment, simply call our office at 913-715-6900.

AFG Industries, Inc. Public Notice (9/11/07)

Notice is hereby given that the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) is soliciting comments regarding a proposed air quality construction permit. AFG Industries, Inc. has applied for an air quality construction permit in accordance with the provisions of K.A.R.28-19-300 to rebuild part of the glass manufacturing plant.
 

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment is proposing to revise the State of Kansas Implementation Plan for the Attainment and Maintenance of National Ambient Air Quality Standards. The hearing for this action will be held Tuesday, May 8, 2007, at 1:30pm, at the Unified Government of Wyandotte County - Kansas City, Kansas Health Department. Copies of the proposed Plan may be viewed at the following locations: (1) Johnson County Environmental Department, 11811 S Sunset Drive, Suite 2700, Olathe, Kansas, and (2) Department of Air Quality, Unified Government of Wyandotte County - Kansas City, Kansas Health Department, 619 Ann Avenue, Kansas City, Kansas.

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment, Bureau of Air & Radiation (BAR), is proposing changes to the Kansas Air Quality State Implementation Plan (SIP). If you would like to review the proposed changes, you may review a copy at the offices of the Johnson County Environmental Department, 11811 S Sunset Drive, Suite 2700, Olathe, Kansas, 913-715-6900. The plan will be available now through January 6, 2006. Or you can view the plan on the BAR website. All comments must be received by the BAR no later than the close of business on January 6, 2006 to assure full consideration of the proposed revision to the SIP.
